Aromatherapy Consent Form
Why Consent Is Important With Aromatherapy
Communication is a vital part of any therapeutic experience. Not only does it ensure that your client is comfortable and safe, but it also gives important insight into where they are physical.
By asking permission and encouraging your client to discuss what works and what doesn’t, you can gain key information about their health. You can also use communication to make your client feel heard and cared for, which is especially important when working with people who experience high levels of shame and fear surrounding their bodies.
You’re not only letting your client know that you understand their needs, but you’re also validating them. You’re acknowledging that their wants and needs are important, that you care about giving them what they need, and that you understand the gravity of their situation.
What Is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of fragrant plant oils to reduce stress, improve mental and physical health, and promote relaxation and sleep.
It has become an alternative medical practice that is used to treat a variety of health issues and improve overall well-being. Aromatherapy oils can be applied topically or taken internally as a tea. Some oils are also used in massage to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Even certain scents are said to have specific health benefits.
At Beauty Forms we have a large selection of ready to use Beauty Form Templates.

Risks Associated with Aromatherapy
While aromatherapy may seem like a healthy and relaxing way to improve your mental and physical health, there are certain risks associated with this type of holistic therapy.
Most essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin because they can cause irritation and rashes. In rare cases, the oils may even lead to an allergic reaction.
Be careful of accidentally ingesting unprocessed plant matter.
Essential oils should not be ingested in their raw form because they may lead to poisoning and other negative side effects. Therefore, before ingesting any essential oils, it is important to boil and filter the plants used for extraction.
Risks for Practitioners
There are some risks for practitioners of aromatherapy, including the potential for adverse reactions to the plant extracts used in the therapies.
Allergic reactions to the essential oils used in aromatherapy are possible, particularly among those who have allergies to specific plants or pollens. There is also a risk of skin irritation or damage from the application of plant extracts to the skin, as well as the risk of the inhalation of plant compounds that are toxic when inhaled (such as citrus oils).
A practitioner must always check the compatibility of each essential oil before applying it to your skin.
